FAQ

Genki 2009

How do I get there?
> Just use the Direction page! You can find it on here!

How will the weather be during Genki?
> June is a lovely month and can typically get up to little over 20 degrees Celsius during the day. But all we can do is order a bit of sunshine and hope for the best.

What kind of clothes should I wear at Genki?
> Wear something comfortable. Genki will take place in a cooled building, but every now and again we’ll have events outside. But besides that there shouldn’t be any problems. Cosplay is recommended, the ninja outfits are super cool, dattebayo!

Where should I park and how much does it cost?
> Parking by us at Toftegårds Plads, which is on the left side of Kulturhuset (see directions), is free (as long as there are spots available).

What does “Genki” mean?
> “Genki” (元気) means “energetic” or “vigorous”! We are trying to create an awesome environment with a bit of pizazz where you can come and have a good time while enjoying J-Pop culture!

What about food? I get hungry from shouting “DATTEBAYO!!” non-stop!
> At Genki there’s a café which is open from 10:00 to 23:00 every day, where you can buy something to eat. After that, it’s up to you to find food. However, there are two 7/11s right around the corner from where Genki takes place. You are however not allowed to bring your own food inside until after 23.00, when the café is closed.

Can you sleep at the con?
> After several weeks, we’re finally allowed to use part of Kulturhuset for sleeping (the 5th floor), so yes, you can. There were however two conditions that came with this:

  1. We are not allowed to be on the 5th floor until 11:00 PM, neither Friday, Saturday, nor Sunday, as others will be using the floor until then. So any sleeping gear must not be unpacked until they have left.
  2. The floor must be completely cleared of people and stuff by 08:30 AM on Saturday as well as Sunday, as there are people who need to use the floor from 09:00 AM, i.e. all sleeping gear must be packed and stored in the wardrobe no latter than 08:30 AM.

There’s room for about 80-100 people on the 5th floor. In case the floor gets filled and there are still more people who want to sleep at the con, we have a few back-up rooms on the 2nd floor, so there should be enough room for everyone.

Signing Up

How do I sign up for Genki?
> Just fill out the form on the page “Con Sign-Up“. If you want to sign up for the cosplay show, also fill out the form on the page “Cosplay Sign-Up“.

Am I guaranteed my ticket when I sign up?
> No. Our limit this year (2009) is 200 participants, and it is the 200 first to pay for their ticket that get in, not the first 200 who sign up. So even if you signed up as the very first, hvis 200 people manage to pay for their ticket before you do, you unfortunately won’t get in.

Then how do I pay for my ticket?
> You are to pay by bank transferal. How to do this is written on the page that appears after you sign up for the con. The bank account is close 7 days before the con starts and after this, any remaining un-payed tickets will be sold at the door.

I sent the money yesterday, why haven’t I receive a confirmation e-mail?
> How long it takes between you sending the money and us receiving them depends of factors such as whether you pay over the Internet or at the actual bank register, what bank you are transfering the money from, what time of day you do it at, and what day of the week you do it at. Depending on these factors, it can take anywhere between a few hours to 3-4 bank days (Saturday and Sunday aren’t bank days, so e.g. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday are only two bank days) before we receive the money, and then maybe an additional day or two before the cashier notices the payment and crosses you off the list. Moreover, the confirmation e-mail may have wounded up in your e-mail’s spam box, so be sure to check it every now and again.

Schedule

When are you going to post Genki’s schedule?
> The schedule has been put up at The Con, so you’ll be able to find it there. The event descriptions can be found on the Events page. If changes to the schedule occur, they will be updated on the page, so keep an eye on it!

Cool! But what about the movie programme for the cinema?
You’ll find that here, at the moment. We will however make sure to have a printed copy in the “con-book” and to have a copy posted on the door to the cinema, just in case you lose your own copy.

How about songs for karaoke?
You can find the list here. The song list won’t be in the con book, but we’ll be playing the songs on the Genki radio during the con, before the karaoke room opens, and we’ll make sure to have folders with the finished song list ready in the karaoke room so that you can “order” ther song you want to sing, so that it can be queued.

Website

How often do you update information on the website?
> We’ll add posts to the front page every time something is added or if we just want to keep potential participants informed about our progress! Hope you’ll check up on it every now and again! We also hope that any question can be answered via our forum on their respective boards!
